Abstract

Understanding the neighbourhood as a place brings us closer to granting it relational and emotional attributes that give it a potential to build a sense of belonging and identity, although these are not exclusive to a local reality but also a global one. The neighbourhood must be undestood by its place in the urban complex, irs relational configutarion, the temporal processes that shape it and how these are projected into the future in narratives and agencies. This article aims to explore this temporal dimension and the mechanisms of setting community belongings through the narratives of various social groups about the past and present time in the neighbourhood of San Cristóbal de los Ángeles. For this task, three analysers related to the history of the neighbourhood are selected that allow us to delve into the subjectivities of its population and their conceptions about the neighbourhood.
