Epistemic Splinters: An Assemblage That Did Not Reach the Status of Text, or on How to Write if the Ghost of Paranoia Appears

Abstract

The following article explores some reflections on the problem of writing when carrying out ethnographic research. The text stops at some empirical events that build the figurative character of what is called epistemic splinters; Then we tie ourselves to the recognizable character of paranoia about the intention to censor and erase, to eliminate the voices that, like ghosts, haunt scientific writings; and, finally, we establish a discussion plan about “objectivity” and its relationship with ethnographic writing. We consider that the form of a social and cultural investigation has to do with what it says, but also how it says it. That is, writing as a form of aesthetic ethics and a politics of epistemology.
